A number of officers from the Republic of Moldova and Albania have completed their session of training and exchange of experience in the field of protection, at the Center of Excellence for Protection and Security (C.E.P.S.) of the Protection and Guard Service.
Every year, the Protection and Guard Service organizes courses at C.E.P.S. for officers from member states of A.P.P.S. (Association of Personal Protection Services), E.N.P.P.F. (European Network for the Protection of Public Figures), as well as for the UN personnel of protection and security who carry out mission in the theatres of operations.
Within C.E.P.S., the trainees attend programs that consist of a practical training module, one with focus on exchange of experience, and a development and experimentation component.
The Center of Excellence for Protection and Security (C.E.P.S.) of the Protection and Guard Service was established in 2010, stemming from the need that universal standards should be applied internationally in the field of dignitary protection. A strong point in this respect was the ten-year experience gained by the officers of the Protection and Guard Service while providing protection for UN high officials in the theatres of operations.
This year, four groups of students have already graduated the training programs within C.E.P.S. Over its five years of existence, more than 300 foreign counterparts have completed such courses within C.E.P.S., and 90% of them have been assigned to carry out international protection missions.
